Molecular sieves or zeolites type 13X are a synthetic solid material with high adsorption capacity for all molecules smaller than 10 Ångström (10 Å). Chemically, they are crystalline lithium aluminosilicates with a regular microporous structure.

Like all molecular sieves with smaller pore diameters, type 13X is a selective adsorbent designed for the purification and removal of contaminants from a wide range of gases, including air. It is commonly used for natural gas desulfurization and, in particular, for the removal of thiols (mercaptans).

Molecular sieve 13X is suitable for industrial applications requiring long adsorption cycles and high selectivity:

• Industrial production: dehydration and purification of gases and air with removal of impurities (mercaptans). Oxygen enrichment. Cryogenic air separation.
• Drying systems: used for natural gas drying and purification (removal of H₂O and CO₂).
• Laboratories and chemical industry: drying/purification of technical gases and controlled-humidity testing environments.
