Activated alumina for industrial use | desiccant for oxygen and technical gases
Activated alumina is a specific form of aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃), obtained through a dehydration process of aluminum hydroxide. This treatment makes it highly porous and gives it excellent adsorptive properties. It comes in white beads and is widely used in industrial settings as a drying and purifying material.
Compared to other desiccants, activated alumina stands out for its high capacity to remove moisture and contaminants from gas flows and compressed air. It is particularly suitable for the treatment and purification of oxygen, due to its ability to adsorb carbon dioxide, lubricant oil vapors, and other volatile organic compounds. It offers an effective solution for drying technical gases and removing impurities in various industrial processes.
Activated alumina is available in standard 2–5 mm particle size and in a wide range of packaging options, from 5 kg to industrial formats in metal drums or big bags, to meet any logistical and production need.
