Calcium Chloride – high-hygroscopicity desiccant salt. Available exclusively for industrial use in 30 Kg sealed drums.
Calcium chloride is a powerful hygroscopic salt used in specific industrial applications. Under standard conditions, it is typically ten times more effective at absorbing moisture than standard silica gel. However, as it absorbs moisture, it degrades into a liquid brine that must be collected and disposed of as hazardous chemical waste, as it is both corrosive and irritating.
This is a chemical product labeled with a hazard pictogram and, once exhausted, must be treated as hazardous waste.
Due to its properties, calcium chloride must be handled with care, especially when used near metallic – particularly ferrous – materials, as it is highly corrosive.
This product is not suitable as a desiccant in the pharmaceutical industry and not permitted in the food industry.
Its use is also not recommended in domestic environments due to its hazardous nature.
Available exclusively in 30 Kg sealed drums.
